OKIOK launches centre for innovation and excellence in identity and access management
The CIEIAM creates exceptional forum for leading-edge knowledge, expertise, and technology solutions; École Polytechnique de Montréal to be the first educational institution to cooperate as partner
OKIOK, a world pioneer and industry leader in the field of information technology security and infrastructure announces today the launch of the new Centre for Excellence in Innovation and Excellence in Identity and Access Management (CIEIAM), and the cooperation of École Polytechnique de Montréal as partner.
The world-class, multi-disciplinary team will cooperate on the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of forefront methods, processes, and technology for identity and access management (IAM), a high priority today for both public and private organizations. The centre brings together OKIOK consultants from all areas of IAM, information security researchers from the École Polytechnique de Montréal, and leading global providers of technology solutions, who have already shown their interest in taking part in the CIEIAM.
“Our experience with our clients, both corporate and governmental, has shown us that there is an urgent need in information security: to bring together the most advanced knowledge for the development of an approach to IAM project deployments that can become a global standard,” says Claude Vigeant, President of OKIOK. “Our collaboration with the École Polytechnique de Montréal will make the new CIEIAM an incubator for IAM, where we can forge the final links required to bring to market solutions that respond to today’s most pressing needs and perfect training programs and education accordingly.”
Recently, the École Polytechnique de Montréal and the CIEIAM signed a cooperation agreement for the direction of potential research projects. “As a leader in scientific research, the École Polytechnique de Montréal promotes master’s and doctoral projects conducted in partnership with the industry,” says Assistant Professor José Fernandez from the Department of Computer & Software Engineering at Polytechnique. “As partners, we can cooperate with the consultants and specialists at OKIOK, and with global IAM solutions providers, to foster the emergence of a next generation of professionals, whose skills are truly in line with market demand. What’s more, our researchers can play an important role in the development of leading-edge solutions.”
Specifically aimed at helping executives, managers and administrators of large corporations and financial institutions, IAM is one of the most crucial steps that is left to complete for those organizations who need to ensure they have the security, compliance and sound governance in place to protect their sensitive information and that of their clients and partners. IAM is a collection of standards, methodologies and processes critical for national and multinational firms in achieving the increasingly stringent regulatory requirements protecting investors, i.e. SOX in the United States and Bill C-198 in Canada.
