Statistical studies and the protection of private information A statistical data-gathering and analysis company needed to protect confidential information collected during their studies. To meet this need, experts at OKIOK quickly developed a customized, highly advanced anonymization solution based on a special encryption technology. It is now impossible to relate the file of longitudinal tabulations back to the individual respondents. Approved by the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, the solution provides the assurance our client needed — that they can conduct their analyses while protecting the private life of individuals.
Access control A large bank commissioned OKIOK to develop an authentication and access control solution to help secure their e-commerce Web applications. The advanced infrastructure follows the principles of identity federation. These principles are based on role definitions and the assigning of privileges based on those roles (the RBAC model). End-users are assigned roles, which give them access to information and services based on their access profile. This unique solution enabled the client to facilitate access for hundreds of thousands of users to Web-based services in a secure environment.
