Updating to version 3.21.1

The ICF server local to RAC/M now also loads the libraries placed in [Install directory]/ICF/server/ext_lib, as the standalone ICF server already did. This directory is the place for the libraries your connectors need and RAC/M does not ship, such as a JDBC driver (jt400.jar for an AS400 database, for example) or the PeopleSoft libraries psjoa.jar and psft.jar. The update never changes its content.

The ICF/server/lib directory, on the other hand, is emptied on every update since version 3.20.2, so that libraries from an older version do not linger next to the new ones. A library you add there is deleted at the next update.

Pre-update tasks

  • (If you added libraries to ICF/server/lib) Copy them out of [Install directory]/ICF/server/lib before running the installation program.

    Required

The installation program empties ICF/server/lib. A library you added there and did not copy beforehand is lost, and the connectors that need it fail with a ClassNotFoundException.

Copy only the libraries you added yourself, not the ones RAC/M ships. If you are updating from version 3.20.1 or earlier straight to this version, see also Updating to version 3.20.2.

Pre-startup tasks

  • (If you added libraries to ICF/server/lib) Place the libraries you copied out in [Install directory]/ICF/server/ext_lib. The ICF server local to RAC/M creates the directory when it starts if it does not exist yet; create it yourself if you place the files before that.
