Summary: The virtualization of digital environments is the culmination of a move towards dematerialization, and organizations are gradually turning to outsourced services. The very nature of cloud computing implies a “dispossession” of data and, consequently, a loss of control. The legal uncertainty it creates and its effects on security deserve particular attention, and call for effective arrangements that reconcile the benefits with the risks.
This training aims to provide tools and recommendations for contracting with outsourcing service providers. A sound grasp of the issues and their subtleties is needed in order to define the contractual framework and the potential challenges properly. Security aspects, the normative framework and best practice will therefore be discussed, to help professionals develop sound reflexes grounded in reality.
