François-Xavier Desmarais spoke last Friday with Simon Therrien, host of the Technobizshow, about recovering data from computers and certain technical aspects of computer investigations.
The interview covers encryption and SSD drives, the secure destruction of confidential information and the EnCase software.

François-Xavier Desmarais is a digital forensics expert and IT security advisor at OKIOK. He holds a bachelor’s degree in software engineering and a master’s degree in computer engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal, where he set up a computer security committee to study techniques for protecting computer systems. Mr. Desmarais has been a « GIAC Penetration Tester GPEN » since 2013.
