As part of her master’s studies at the faculty of graduate studies of the Université de Montréal, Me Julie M. Gauthier worked jointly on a study, directed by professor Nicolas Vermeys, on the legal implications of the Government of Québec’s use of cloud computing. The study, which runs to more than 200 pages, describes the main technical models of cloud computing, sets out the security risks arising from its use, analyzes in depth the legal rules applicable to the public sector, and presents a comparative view of a few examples of use nationally and internationally.
