What the platform does
S-Filer Portal combines Managed File Transfer (MFT) and Enterprise File Sharing and Synchronization (EFSS) in one platform, serving ad-hoc, user-to-user sharing and high-volume automated transfer alike, from dozens to millions of files per day.

Secure transfer & sharing
Move files of any size your way: browser drag-and-drop or standard HTTPS, SFTP, FTPS and SCP clients, from mobiles to mainframes. Every file is encrypted at rest in AES-256 virtual vaults and in transit over TLS, with the free S-Filer Sanctum™ app extending secure access to iOS and Android. Versioning, retention rules and Quick Send round out everyday exchange.
Collaboration & workspaces
Bring people together in secure communities and personal sharing spaces. Users invite internal teams or external partners, even anonymous ones, by email, apply share templates and granular permissions, and new members are auto-routed to the right community. Delegated administration lets the right people manage their own spaces within your policies.
Identity & authentication
Authenticate everyone against systems you already run, from Active Directory and LDAP to Microsoft Entra ID, with single sign-on via SAML, OpenID Connect or Kerberos and native multi-factor authentication built in, no third-party add-on. Users sync automatically from your directories or self-register, and multiple authentication domains keep external users separate. SSH public-key authentication, access tokens and service accounts drive machine-to-machine access.
Encryption & key management
Files are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit over TLS and SSH, with optional end-to-end (client-side) encryption so intermediaries never see plaintext. Robust key management, with per-user and per-community keys, rotation and revocation, underpins it all; deeper cryptographic internals are on the technical page.
Threat protection & access control
Every upload can be scanned through ICAP anti-virus and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) services, restricted by file type and confined to trusted IP ranges, so malicious content and untrusted access never reach your vaults.
Administration & policy
Run everything from a web console or scriptable CLI. Manage users and groups with three-tier delegated administration, password and account-expiration policies, storage quotas and file-size limits, and batch/CSV provisioning, with precise control at global, community and share scope. Customizable notification themes and templates and per-feature management tailor the platform to each deployment.
Automation & integration
A full REST API and scriptable CLI let external systems and AI agents operate the platform directly. Event-driven extensions such as Groovy and command-line scripts, ICAP hooks, a task scheduler and image-to-PDF conversion automate your file-transfer processes end to end, with outbound notifications sent over SMTP using modern OAuth2 authentication.
Outlook add-in
The S-Filer Outlook add-in turns ordinary email attachments into secure, controlled transfers while users work as usual. As soon as a file is attached, the sender is warned that the attachment is unsecured.
On send, it replaces the attachments with a secure transfer through S-Filer Portal, encrypted in transit and at rest. Recipients retrieve the files through a controlled, auditable process instead of unsecured copies in their inbox.
Administrators deploy it organization-wide through the Microsoft 365 admin center and tune parameters such as retention period and download limits to fit their policies.
Audit, reporting & compliance
A comprehensive audit journal records who did what, exportable to PDF and CSV and forwardable to your SIEM over syslog, while transfer activity reports surface what moved through the platform. Built-in privacy and consent controls plus support for standards such as PCI DSS, GDPR, PIPEDA and Quebec’s Law 25 underpin compliance, and the SaaS offering is ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified.
Storage & deployment
Keep files where you want, on local or network storage, Azure Blob Storage or AWS S3, and deploy to suit your environment: on premises in virtual machines or containers, or as SaaS. Engineered for high availability and self-managed operation, it runs continuously and unattended, with no day-to-day intervention.
Experience & customization
A clean, multilingual web experience in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian that meets WCAG 2.1 AA and works on any device. Fast file search, white-label branding and themes, customizable URLs, and custom login and EULA pages make the platform look and feel like yours.
