S-Filer Portal™ is a complete solution that allows large and small organizations to meet all their enterprise needs for secure file transfer and storage.

Okiok publishes version 4.20.8 of S-Filer/Portal™ secure transfer solution.

Important Changes

This version introduces important changes that require special attention during the upgrade process. These changes only apply if you are using the “On-Prem” service. If you are using the SaaS service, Okiok will implement the changes for your S-Filer Portal instance.

Password Policy Support with Outlook Plugin

An improvement has been made to the Outlook plugin to make it fully compatible with password policies configured in the solution. Previously, when password policies applied to Quick Send, the Outlook plugin did not allow these sends to be performed, making the functionality unusable in environments where security required password protection.

Unification of GUI and Gateway Log Files

This version removes the specific gui.log configuration and merges it with gateway.log. The goal is to simplify configuration and log consultation. After the update, logs previously present in gui.log will now be available in gateway.log.

The migration is done automatically during the update. Attention: if you have customized the GUI’s log4j2.xml file, it is necessary to report your modifications in the Gateway’s log4j2.xml file.

Complete Management of Scheduled Tasks with S-FILER CONFIG CLI

It is now possible to list, enable, disable, schedule, delete and execute tasks without going through the administrative console. It is therefore no longer necessary to access the administrative console to manage scheduled tasks.

The new available commands are:

  • add-scheduler-execution
  • delete-scheduler-execution
  • list-scheduler-jobs
  • start-scheduler-job
  • update-scheduler-job

Addition of File Access Paths

Audit logs now include the directory associated with files during upload and download operations.

Previously, this information was not available in audit logs, making it difficult to trace the origin or destination of a file without enabling the detailed transfer.log journal. This improvement aligns the content of audit logs with that of transfer.log, while reducing the need to enable the latter.

Fixes

  • Fix for an issue with managing file deletion rights in communities. Previously, when a user did not have the rights to view files in a community, they were not able to delete their own uploaded files, even if they were the owner.
  • Fix for an issue in the notification process following file upload. Previously, some users received a file availability notification even if they did not have the necessary rights to view it.
  • Fix for an issue in generating file deletion notice notifications. In certain circumstances, the number of days displayed before deletion could appear as a negative value, resulting in an inconsistent message for the user.
  • Fix for an error in the process of inviting users to a sharing space. In certain situations, the system sent an invitation to a user who no longer existed in the solution.
  • Fix enabling CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) requests on Apache Axis-based web services. Previously, calls from external web applications — particularly single-page applications (SPA) like the Outlook plugin — were blocked, as the server did not return the required Access-Control-Allow-Origin HTTP header.
  • Fix for the cryptographic components (JCE) loading process to ensure clean loading and stable use of encryption and digital signature functions.
  • Fix for navigation in notification theme configuration pages.
  • Fix of an error in the screen listing received and sent files when the number of items per page was changed.
  • Fix made to the backup theme feature, which was not being used when needed.
  • Fix to the fallback for the visual theme mechanism.
  • Fix to SFTP transfer management to better support SSHFS.

Known Issues

There are currently no known issues with this version.
